John Dombroski

John Dombroski works with sound, experimental music composition, performance, and cinematography in site-specific installations. Using microphones and lenses, he creates physical systems that connect and activate architecture and found objects, questioning the ways in which our audiovisual, neurological, and cognitive systems produce sensory experience. By reorienting sonic and visual perspectives, Dombroski highlights the social and material histories embedded in place. Currently pursuing a MFA at University of California San Diego, he received his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, and is an alumnus of Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Ox-Bow School of the Arts, and Wave Farm.
