Izzy Pezzulo

Izzy Pezzulo is an artist and recent graduate of the University of Richmond, and is Head Art Curator for the online publication Digital America. Pezzulo’s work incorporates documentary, found footage, and sound to reference visions of utopia and possible futures. She works primarily in video and sound, but her interdisciplinary practice also includes printmaking and installation. Currently, her work brings together appropriated and original content through video collage/installation to talk about visions of utopia, liminal states, and how the past haunts the present, creating a wealth of interpretations and possible futures.  She has drawn on traditional agriculture in India to geodesic domes as inspiration for her multi-media work. Pezzulo’s video/audio work has been featured in the Third Practice Electroacoustic Festival, VALET Gallery in Richmond, VA, and online at DigitalAmerica.org. Pezzulo helped curate a special Sound Arts Richmond section of Digital America Issue 11 that brings together field recordings, circuit-bending, and online interactive sound art, along with a Q+A with abstract turntabilist Maria Chavez .
